Jürgen Portz
Jürgen Portz has been on a spiritual journey since 1990 when he realized that the status quo of western materialism was just not providing the depth of satisfaction that his soul was yearning for. He discovered meditation and Yoga philosophy and took to it with a passion. This led him to spend 3 years in the 90s at an ashram in the Indian Himalayas to deepen his daily practice. After returning to the West in 1998 he resumed his career in the high-tech industry but also started to teach regular satsang classes with his wife and partner Lynne Cardinal. At the same time he began to broaden his understanding of the spiritual path by studying the work of the American philosopher and pundit Ken Wilber whose integral theory provides a super-holistic understanding of life. Jürgen recognizes that all aspects of our humanity and divinity need to be honoured and cultivated in order to live a balanced and authentic life.
Since 2008 he has also taken up the practice of Tai Chi with Pierre Lefebvre who is an expert teacher and practitioner. During the same year, Jürgen also started volunteer work with Friends of Hospice Ottawa. Both practices have added greatly to his life a sense of balance, connection and compassion for oneself and others.
Jürgen is also currently studying with spiritual teacher and mystic Thomas Hübl (www.thomashuebl.com) as part of the "Birthing a new We" 1 year intensive program.
